This is How I Fix Broken UTP Cable
Hi Everyone,
I was having problem in my workplace. We have UTP cable that connect from HUB to cashier. Yesterday, the cable is not working. I was very frustrated since the distance from hub to cashier is kinda far and i am haunted by "replacing cable" scenarios, which will take much time to do so.
After done some research and trying some method, finally i knew how to fix UTP internet cable without replacing with a new ones. But before we begin, let me explain about UTP cable first.
So, there are two method of pairing cable that used in UTP installation. There is straight cable, and cross-over cable. In older days, cross-over cable are used to connect between computer to computer only and cannot be use to connect to an internet network. But nowadays, straight cable are enough to do both since recent network device has MDIX feature that automatically detect which pair cable that connect between two devices. In this case, we are using straight cable to connect between devices.
Straight cable has colour order which is applied as international standard, as following order :

The only cable that will be use to receive and deliver connection are cable number one, two, three, and six. In my case, after checking my cable with UTP Cable tester, the number six is broken. So i try to switch my green cable (number six) to brown ones (number eight). So here is my cable order :
